How good it is to gather for worship each week on the Lord's Day. God calls the church to assemble as a corporate priesthood: "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession." For what purpose? "That you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light" (1 Peter 2:9 ESV). May God continually be glorified in our worship as we proclaim his excellencies together!
Please continue to pray for Paul and Lisa as they are in Chattanooga this week at the annual meeting of The General Assembly of the PCA. The General Assembly represents in one body all the churches of our denomination. Pray for this gathering, and the pastors and elders in attendance, that they would receive wisdom, guidance, and encouragement in the gospel ministry. If you're interested, you can view the sessions online at this link. In addition, I recommend this article from Rev. Kevin DeYoung called "10 Reasons I'm Thankful for the Presbyterian Church in America".
Please also continue to be in prayer for Shane and the entire missions team as they serve with 6:8 Ministries in Costa Rica this week. I am confident that God is working in them and through them as they share the love of Christ in both word and in deed. I can't wait to hear all about it after they return.
See you Sunday!
