Blessed is everyone who fears the LORD,
who walks in his ways!
You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands;
you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.
(Psalm 128:1-2 ESV)
Everest VBS was a wonderful success – praise the Lord! Thank you to everyone for praying, volunteering, donating, serving, participating, and loving on the kids that God sent our way. A special thanks to the children's ministry team – Sara Fowler, Heather Coggins, Kelly Redway, Barb Deisch, and all the others who worked so hard planning, preparing, and pulling this off! May the gospel seeds that were planted grow deep roots and bear much fruit in the lives of these kids and families!
Please continue to pray for Paul and Lisa as they continue their travels in Denmark. According to Paul's updates on Twitter, they are having a lovely time. What a beautiful place! I can't wait to hear all about it.
This Sunday during worship we will be observing the sacrament of the Lord's Supper. Our confession of faith reminds us of Scripture's admonitions for how we ought to prepare for this sacrament:
WLC Q. 171. How are they that receive the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper to prepare themselves before they come unto it?
A. They that receive the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper are, before they come, to prepare themselves thereunto, by examining themselves of their being in Christ, of their sins and wants; of the truth and measure of their knowledge, faith, repentance; love to God and the brethren, charity to all men, forgiving those that have done them wrong; of their desires after Christ, and of their new obedience; and by renewing the exercise of these graces, by serious meditation, and fervent prayer (1 Cor. 10-11; Acts 2; Matt. 5).
See you Sunday!
