Weekly Update: May 2, 2016

Dear Family,

Allow me to be the first to wish all of our moms a very happy, lovely, breakfast-in-bed kind of Mother's Day this Sunday!! I love my mom (I put her card in the mail this morning) and I will make sure to call her. For all of our moms, I hope and pray that your day is filled with much love and thanksgiving. We will be continuing in our Mercy series by looking closely at "A Transforming Love" from 1 Timothy 5:3-10. I hope you make worship at Cross Creek a part of your Mother's Day plans.

A few housekeeping details:

Reminder that Vacation Bible School will be from June 20-24. We are in need of volunteers. Please contact Heather Coggins as soon as possible.

Men, there is a cookout scheduled at Aaron Koerner's pad on Tuesday, May 10 at 7 pm. Contact Keith Snow for more details.

Our Senior Adult Ministry is scheduled to meet for lunch tomorrow at The Loop at noon. As many of you know, George Merson took a tumble at home. He jarred his back and hurt is hand, but he's back home and resting comfortably. Please keep him in your prayers.

Please mark your calendar for May 22, 2016. This is our Graduating Seniors Sunday (Tommy Park will be preaching), Ministry Fair, and Cookout on the Lawn. The church will be grilling burgers and hotdogs, so please bring a side dish to share.

Fine Arts Camp is from July 11-15 and July 18-22. Please be sure to sign up as space is limited.

One more item for you to pray about and consider, since the start of 2016 it appears that giving has been lagging. I would like to encourage the flock to consider your level of financial commitment. Please give faithfully and consistently. Also, please consider increasing your giving. As I mentioned in a sermon a few weeks ago, if everyone increased their gift by $50 a week we would see a weekly increase of approximately $2,000. So, for most in our congregation, we are not talking about a massive sacrifice. It is often in collective small sacrifices that the church can see the greatest increase in order to staff ministry. Your attention to this would be greatly appreciated.

See you on Sunday.
