Weekly Update: June 21, 2016

Dear Family,

Please be in prayer for Keith Snow and family as they travel to Mobile, Alabama. Keith will be representing Cross Creek at the PCA's 44th General Assembly held at the Mobile Convention Center. This is our denomination's yearly meeting and comprises of all the PCA churches in the country. Next year's General Assembly is scheduled to be held in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Our Vacation Bible School, Cave Quest: Following Jesus The Light of the World, is in full swing. Cross Creek is ministering to approximately eighty children, many of whom are not connected to Cross Creek. Please keep our many volunteers in your prayers as they love and care for these little ones.

Jan Merson has been working diligently on our next capital campaign. She has been assembling teams for various tasks. I would like to offer a gentle word of encouragement to all church members to please be involved. Some are reluctant to lead a team or even be on one for various reasons: busyness of life, feelings of inadequacy, added pressures, etc. However, if we wait to serve the church and make sacrifices for ministry until our lives are in complete order we will never do ministry. I can tell you from personal experience that the Lord blesses the saints for ministry in spite of the challenges we face.

And this is a perfect segue into our next sermon series...

This Sunday we will be embarking on a Summer Sermon Series on Jonah (talk about a reluctant fellow who God used for His glory). I hope you will join us as we dig deep into this remarkable book. Jonah challenges us to consider not only what it means to believe the gospel of God's grace, but also what it means to live the gospel of grace.
