Resources For Christian Parents | Rooted Ministry
Rooted is my go-to website and has lots of resources, including for parents. I especially like their podcasts.
The Spiritual Journey
One of the most effective tools I have found with students is Perimeter’s “Spiritual Journey.” I think it gives shape to the ups, downs, and wild swings of being a teenage Christian. I encourage you to do it yourself and use it as part of your vocabulary.
Are My Kids On Track?
Are My Kids on Track? | Groups Curriculum
I definitely think emotional-spiritual development is one differentiator I have seen in my time in the youth group. Youth group is an important supplement to a child’s faith. BUT, it is no replacement for the warmth, discipline, and intentionality of dad and mom. I encourage you to take a step back and consider where your student is at developmentally and cultivate conversations that get to the heart of life.
Technology
The Tech-Wise Family is the single best book you can read, and you can click here for a podcast overview. “The Anxious Generation” by Jonthan Haidt is also fantastic.
